Happy Sunday Everyone!
This was a crazy week for me. I received two very large fabric donations, so my house was complete chaos for quite a few days as I sorted, folded and organized a lot of material.
I also received a few quilt tops and a whole bunch more orphan blocks.
It was such a busy week that I didn't get in much scrap play. But I did get out my green scraps and start making some blocks.

I have a few more miscellaneous compassion quilt finishes to share today. Over the holidays I got busy and quilted up a number of quilt tops - I am finally finishing the binding on a few.
Someone sent me in a huge stack of colorful string blocks. I was able to sort them into two quilt tops. Here is the first finish I made with them. I know this quilt will bring a much-deserved smile to someone's lips. It is so lovely!
I have been trying to come up with a simple scrap block that I could sew up on a continuous basis and use in lots of ways. I have been thinking about this for months!
I also wanted something that didn't require a bunch of cutting.
This week I decided that I would just make some of these 4.5" x 8.5" strips of scraps. I can use any size width of fabric, I can make them any color and I can just stack them up until an inspiration fabric shows itself.
The next step will be to ...
read moreI had a little bit of time this week to sew so I thought I would get out a bin of scraps and sew up a few more Two Bits blocks. I thought my yellow bin might be fun to play with.
I made these five Two Bits blocks. I already had the 9-patches in my parts department so it was just a matter of sewing on the strips. I was surprised to find that my yellow scrap bin really doesn't have a lot of true yellow scraps. I have lots of gold, and acid green/yellow. But ...

I decided to get out my orange scrap bin and work on these four blocks. The nine-patches came out of my spare parts stash. I think I might try and make some blocks each week until I have enough for a quilt. I miss playing with my scraps.
These blocks go together so quickly and burn thru all ...
read moreI felt like doing a little scrap sewing this weekend so I pulled out my brown scraps. They don't get very much attention from me.
The Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for October is Light Neutrals. I decided for me that meant brown. I pulled four mini 9 patches from my spare parts box and made some quick Two Bits blocks. I am really pleased with how they turned out (even though they are brown). They didn't make a dent in my scrap bin but at least I felt like I tried!
When I released the fifth module to my Scrap Mixology series, I widely spaced out sharing the finished quilts I made using the pattern because I had quite a few other finishes to share, I thought I would do a round up today so you can see all the finishes together.
Subtle changes can make a world of difference - that is what Scrap Mixology is all about.
The Chunky module is great for large scraps or leftover s from a previous quilt. I made this quilt from a bunch of Kaffe Fassett leftovers. It worked so well for those large ...

I have been so busy working on my donation quilt project, I forgot to share anther quilt I made using my Scrap Mixology Chunky block.
This quilt just makes me dream of summertime and picnics.
Last Sunday, I released another module to my Scrap Mixology series.
I thought today I would share another quilt I made using the Chunky block.
The first quilt I shared for ...

I have been working on the fifth module of my Scrap Mixology series for seems like forever. I am pleased that I finally finished it and I am ready to share some of the lovely quilts I made with it.
I am finally feeling not so overwhelmed and that means I am usually more productive. I have finished another quilt that has been in the block stage for months. That make me feel so good!
I started these blocks at the beginning of 2022 as a Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilt. I had recently released my Chaser Block pattern (One of my Scrap Mixology patterns) and had the idea to add the flip corners to the block so a pinwheel appears where the block connects.
The little flip corners are not part of the pattern. I just constantly have ideas that ...
read moreIt looks like fall is finally coming to the PNW. Temperatures are still a bit warm during the night, but the nights are cold and the leaves are slowly changing colors. So a lot of my time this week has been spent doing outdoor chores.
I did get the final ten Chaser blocks completed for my RSC quilt. Here are the first six.
Here are the final four. I decided to add in a couple gray blocks because my scrap bin is overflowing.
(I used my Chaser pattern as inspiration for these blocks. Note that the pattern does not have ...
